March 30, 2007- Dear Derek

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEREK!!!!
Dear Derek,
This is one of my favorite pictures of you. This picture was taken at your first birthday party. Uncle Mike and I wanted to say HAPPY 8th BIRTHDAY via the blog because you are such a special boy! When you were born in 1999 Uncle Mike and I had only known each other about seven months. We went to meet you in the hospital and Mike was so excited to be an uncle for the first time! I could not know for sure that I would marry Mike but I hoped that I would and I claimed you as my nephew that first day I saw you!

This is Mike's favorite picture of you and him together. I do believe it was your first time in the Hummer limo as well.

Here you are June 15, 2002 as our precious ring bearer. You did such a great job! I cherish this picture of you, it truly is a favorite. What a handsome thing you were in that tuxedo!

Derek and his brother Adam fooling around at the zoo. Do you remember your trips to the zoo with us? We always have such a good time. I hope that you can come with us when we take Lindsay soon!

What a proud cousin! You worked very hard to sing Lindsay to sleep that day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!!! We hope you have a great day and a fun time at the beach for spring break. We'll see you when you get back!

Love,

Uncle Mike, Aunt Chris & Lindsay

Wednesday Night Blues

Lindsay was sick today at daycare. We got the call around 9:30 that she didn't keep her breakfast down. She ended up taking a nap so I didn't have to go get her til she had more issues after that. I brought her home this afternoon and did the pedialite thing and she seemed much better at dinner time. I fed her what I thought would be least "ick" if she got sick and we did another dose of her antibiotic. She's down for the count now and seems to be doing ok. I really hope this ear thing clears up already!

My prediction on Cup of Joe came true....BYE, BYE Chris Sligh....oh well, it should have been Sanjaya but we all knew it wasn't happening. Does anyone think this kid might win? Really? UGH.

Tomorrow is another long day. As long as Linds doesn't do poorly tomorrow I'm off to a market research study after work that pays 75.00! WOOHOO...that will buy lots of pictures at the photo shoot on Sunday. It's a "first time mom's survey" and that's all I know about it. Should be interesting.

Maybe it's because Linds hasn't been feeling well but I just feel sort of blahsy, bluesy...weepy even. No clue, it's not a time I should be feeling like this. I hate that she's not well and her ears are bothering her. Here's hoping the tylenol let's her sleep tonight.

Time to hit the bed myself. Thanks for all the well wishes for Lindsay. I'm sure she'll be doing much better tomorrow.

9 month Check up!

Hello all-

Lindsay had her 9 month check up today. NO SHOTS!! YAY! She got a toe prick to check her hemoglobin and she almost made it thru that with no tears. It was sort of a delayed reaction. But, I handled it ok. Much better than her shots and my reaction is all that matters...Ha!ha! Just kidding.
Hemoglobin was good. Weight was 20 lbs on the nose (she was 16# 10oz at her 6 month) and she is 27 inches long (up from 25 3/4 at 6 months). All in all she is good and healthy! HOWEVER, the darn double ear infection is back. Soooo, we're on the THIRD round of ten day antibiotics. We'll bring her back to the doc the Monday after Easter and if the ears are not finally cleared up she will get a shot. A few others have told me that the shot will clear it up in 48 hrs so although I'm hoping to not need it...BRING IT ON. This is getting old! I knew something was up with her when she did not drink her bedtime bottle last night. She also refused it tonight as well.

That's about all I have for tonight. I've been commuting to Cumming this week helping out at another office so I'm tired. Hope all my blog readers are having a good week. Many of you are counting the days for Spring Break...hang in there! Wish I was "breaking" next week myself.

Good night from the Bresnan's!

Lindsay and the Easter Bunny

How many times do I have to tell you, I don't LIKE the crazy bunny?!!!
He's TOUCHING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, maybe he's ok?!!
Nope..definitely not. Can you say STARE DOWN?
BEDTIME BUNNY!!

Here is Lindsay at home safe in her crib sporting her mall souvenir bunny mask. Here's hoping you don't have bunny nightmares tonight sweet pea!

Easter Egg Hunt & Derek's Birthday

Daddy and Lindsay looking for eggs. We have to remember to have daddy take his blue tooth off when we're taking pictures! Lindsay had a bit of a melt down when we put her in the grass. For some reason she doesn't like her feet touching it and she's afraid of trees....weird? I don't get it. When Mike is holding her in the front yard, if he lets her touch a branch on a tree she cries. It will NOT be good if she doesn't get over that.
Adam & Derek with the Easter Bunny
Aunt Helen & Uncle David with EB
I wanted to post this pic on the birthday page. Derek took time out from his friends at his party to get a little Lindsay time in. It's so sweet when he asks if he can hold her. He's a very good big brother and cousin!
Mike and I took Lindsay to Town Center mall this morning for Easter Bunny pictures. Had we known that such a great Easter Bunny was going to be at the neighborhood party we would not have bothered. At any rate we didn't get pics at the mall because Lindsay was having NOTHING to do with him. We tried a couple of times to put her in his lap. We sat with the bunny with her in our laps and that ALMOST worked til he reached out with his furry little paw and touched her arm. She had a Melt down. A serious melt down. That was the end of that for the day, so she thought. I'm sure when we got to the next party and she saw him again she thought she was being stalked. Stay tuned. I have one more post to go and it's the lovely pics we did get of Lindsay and E.B. himself!

Derek's Lego Birthday Party

Today we went to my nephew's 8th birthday party. He'll be 8 on March 30th. Here is his awesome LEGO birthday cake his mom made.
The boys had a "free build" competition with their legos and then played this "brick toss" game for prizes. They had a great time.
Here is Adam my other nephew. He'll be 5 on April 11th. Check out the AIR this kid got trying to smack the LEGO pinyata. SUPER A+ effort little guy!
Here is Derek having a go at it. Eventually the blind folds came off and each boy got to have a chance to be the one to rain the candy down. Let me tell you that was a LOUD scene. Lindsay had a good time yelling too. She was just trying to be heard in that crowd.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU....
We had a great day today visiting with Derek and Adam. It just so happened that their neighborhood had an Easter egg hunt today as well. After the birthday party was over we went across the street for the egg hunt. I don't know why but blogger will not let me post more than five pictures at a time so I'll include the Easter egg hunt photos in the next post.
Any help on that will be greatly appreciated. It's making me crazy!

Saturday

Lindsay reads while she waits for mommy to get her hair done. Check out her pretty necklace that one of the stylists let her wear.
I look Maaarvelous!!
Here is the new gadget we bought at Babies R Us today. I keep hearing about these and that they are great for teething. She's biting on two apple slices inside the mesh bag. She went to town on the apples.
hmmm...back gums are loving the apple wedges
Well, we still need to try out some other things. It says you can put any fruit or veggie in there and they get the flavor as well as the satisfaction of the chewing. I think we're going to try ice cubes and frozen grapes next.
Lindsay and I had a nice Saturday together. We enjoyed our trip to BRU. We picked up some new paci's (since a couple have disappeared into thin air), some diapers and some EASTER SHOES...finally! I've been searching high and low. Anyway, tomorrow we're off to see the Easter Bunny. Let's hope Lindsay likes him. She did really well with Santa so we'll cross our fingers and hope for the best.
Hope everyone is enjoying this fantastic weather weekend!!

Two faces of Lindsay

HAPPY!!
MAD AS HECK BUT YOU CAN FINALLY SEE MY TEETH!
Here you go Missy...Lindsay posing for you in this outfit you love. She looks very cute but as you can see from the bottom photo she was NOT in the mood for photo time.
These were taken Thursday evening. We've had a busy week and I've been way too tired to blog. I promise more pics later this evening. We bought a new baby "gadget" today and tomorrow we're going to cousin Derek's 8th birthday party! See tribute to Derek March 30th on his actual birthday! :)
That's all for now...we have to get daddy some dinner before he goes to drive his Prom charter!

NINE MONTHS AGO TODAY...

Mike and I welcomed our beautiful baby girl into this world! WOW, I don't even know where the time went. I can't even believe in just three short months we'll be celebrating her first birthday. Oh the Blog that week will be picture mania! June is going to be an exciting month. We are going on vacation and it will be Lindsay's first trip to the beach. Grandma and Grandpa will be joining us so she will have lots of family to entertain her. Mike will finally get to celebrate his first TRUE Father's day (last year sort of didn't count, although she came two days after) and we'll be planning the party of all parties....the first birthday!! Not to mention Mike and I will be celebrating our FIVE YEAR jewelry, uh I mean wedding anniversary on June 15! ;)

Tonight we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner and to give them a little Lindsay time before their camping trip. It's been a couple of weeks since they have seen her due to sickness, schedules etc. We had a nice time and I totally flaked and didn't take any photos. Lindsay had her dinner ALL over her face tonight and I suppose that would have made for good blogger pics. Oh well...I think you guys have seen enough photos the last week that no one will soon forget her sweet face!

I forgot to mention that yesterday I got pulled over by a Cobb County POlice officer on my way home from work. NO, not for speeding but for "improper lane change". Okay, I was totally getting over cause some BIG BLACK SUV was about to run over me if I didn't get out of his way...but I guess you didn't NOTICE that OCIFER....anyway, I digress...I GOT A WARNING and not a TICKET! WOOHOO. He wasn't too thrilled with the fact that I was on my cell phone when this occurred. I was certainly hoping that after he heard my version of why I did my little lane trick (and it was nicer than my blog) that he would see my point. I was also wearing my scrubs that day which I have been told helps. I haven't had a ticket in ages either so I really thought he might let me go and he did (and no I didn't CRY). I was thanking my lucky stars because we REALLY didn't need to shell out moola for a traffic ticket right now. I have Lindsay's NINE month picture shoot scheduled and I was going to be HOT if my picture money got rerouted to COBB COUNTY. Not to mention my husband would have been none to thrilled with me. ;)

All is right with the world...

I'm gonna be in trouble but so what...

Check out my poor tired husband. This was last night when we were "baby free". Midnight so rarely gets Mike's lap all to herself anymore. No baby at home equals FREE LAP!
At least the CAT was happy!
In all fairness these pics were taken Sunday night around 10 pm and Mike had been up since sometime on Saturday morning. Not good planning for a date night. It's PROM SEASON for us so weekends are just a tad crazy around our house. I seriously would have hated having to go to Prom in March or April back in my day. I guess there are just so many schools now they have to start early. Go figure.
Anyway, the cat was too cute and you see where I rate. I have to share the leftover snuggle time between Lindsay and the cat!

Happy Birthday Kaley Rose

HAPPY 12th BIRTHDAY KALEY!

This is one of my favorite pictures of you and I. Remember this? It's a few years old now. Almost five years to be exact. This is a picture of us the night before Uncle Mike and I got married. You were such a PERFECT junior bridesmaid! I hope you had a wonderful birthday and I am sure you are looking forward to your friend party this weekend. Sorry to hear you were a little under the weather today. Rest up so you can have fun this weekend. We miss you and hope to see you soon! Lindsay sends her love too!

Love, Auntie Chris, Uncle Mike and Linds

We're Back!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Here is a picture of Lindsay in a funny hat we found at Babies R Us a few weeks ago. Mike took this on his camera phone which is why it's a tad blury.
Batter Up!
This is a GREAT teether mom!
Trying to crawl
I'm standing too with a little help...check out my shamrock socks!
Mommy's fave picture from the weekend (even with the paci)

Here are some Ellijay pics. Lindsay is having a great time spending the night with Aunt Patti tonight. Mike and I were able to grab some dinner and do a few things around the house sans baby. Lindsay seems to be teething again. The nose is on constant drip and she's putting anything and everything into her mouth and chewing. Maybe we'll be seeing the top two teeth in the near future?
The weekend just flew by for us. I can't believe we're starting another week already. Tomorrow is my neice KALEY'S birthday. HAPPY 12th Birthday KALEY! Hope you had a great party today.
On another note for those of my Blogger Buddies that are American Idol Junkies check out my new Links section. The link I added has some pretty funny Sanjaya stuff from last week. Since we're stuck with him in the top ten we may as well have a good laugh!
I also have a link to my hubby's website if anyone is interested in a limo anytime soon.
Check it out! For those "foodies" out there check out CHEF AND THE FAT MAN TOO!
Ok...I'm done with my shameless plugs for my friends and family. Have a great week!

Lindsay's Weekend Plans

I'm going where for St. Patrick's weekend?
YAY!! Aunt Patti and Uncle Steve's house!!!
SHUT UP, it's Aunt Patti's BIRTHDAY TOO!!!
That calls for an outfit change! I'm so sweetly wishing you an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY on mommy's blog. We'll see you tomorrow night!
Here's my Standing Ovation for your birthday!

Christmas in March!

Lindsay's new Ball Popper that she got for Christmas from Uncle Paul & Aunt Agatha!
Hmmmm...how does this thing work?
Ahhhh...here we go! I really like this!
Action shot! Check out that blue ball!
Where did they all go???
Don't you just love this age? The age that you can put away a toy at Christmas and pull it out in March and they'll never know the difference? Now that Lindsay is sitting and reaching so well we thought she'd really enjoy this. We were right! Thanks Paul and Agatha! These pictures are from last Saturday March 10. Lindsay got up bright and early on this particular morning. The morning after mommy and daddy had their first Friday night date night in ages. So....we pulled out the old Ball Popper and played on the floor until it was a more respectable hour. So far we have had a lot of fun with this toy every time we have played with it. Lindsay loves to take the balls off the second tray before they can pop back out. She usually holds them two at a time.
The only thing about this toy is we have to play it on the floor where there is carpeting because those balls go everywhere and mommy and daddy are the only ones that retreive them right now. :)
ENJOY!

Issues

Hello all-

I tried to post some new photos last night and I lost everything I had been working on for an hour. I gave up and went to bed. Oh well. I have my photos all uploaded and will try again tonight from home.

For all those who have been checking in, Lindsay is doing much better this week on the new antibiotic. We're looking forward to a trip up to Ellijay this weekend to spend some time with her Aunt Patti and Uncle Steve. After all the craziness the past two weeks we're ready to head for the fresh MOUNTAIN AIR!

Stay tuned for more pics tonight....

Ear Infection

Well, just like we thought this weekend the ear infection is not quite gone. It's no longer a double though. Lindsay has infection in only her right ear and is in for another ten days of antibiotics. This time we got something stronger though OMNICEF and it was 50$ so it better work!
She was super fussy on Saturday and somewhat clingy on Sunday. I noticed her pulling on her right ear and this time I clued in. (Last time I just thought she was a genius pretending to use her cell phone) LOL! Oh well....mommy lesson number one thousand and one...

Anyway, I wasn't feeling the greatest from my lovely ovarian cyst that I had last week. I didn't even give it credit on the blog because I am SO sick of having sickness. Well, it ruptured on Saturday and that was not fun. However, I was prepared for it with some prescription pain killers so no need to go to the ER this time.
Lindsay decided to keep me up all night last night (and I mean all night) and daddy was working so I had no back up. By 5 a.m. I had already decided to call in sick to work and take my girl to the doctor. So, today we did the doctor, took naps and eventually this evening got some good daddy time and went and walked at the park for an hour.

Tonight we kept Lindsay up an extra hour (since the park threw us off schedule just a tad) and gave her a dose of meds and put her to bed. Here's hoping she sleeps like the angel she is tonight! I'm off to bed myself. For those of you checking in with me I'll be at work tomorrow.

I have some new photos to post but those will keep til tomorrow as well.

Goodnight!

Waiting for Prince Charming

MY FIRST BORN

MY FIRST BORN

Here you go mommies - a different kind of survey for a change - it's all about your first born!

1. WAS YOUR FIRST PREGNANCY PLANNED? Yes, but we were shocked we were pregnant that month when we found out.
2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME? Yes

3. WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? I freaked out. 100% totally freaked out. Ask anyone in my office (they were there)!
4. WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU? NO WAY!

5. HOW OLD WERE YOU? 35 when I found out/36 when I gave birth.

6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? My husband told me. Seriously. How often does that happen? I got sent to Quest for a blood test the day before. We were convinced it was a formality. I had a negative blood test less than 20 days before. I never thought I had a chance at it being positive. They called me the next morning at work but I was away from desk. So the nurse called my home and got Mike. He insisted that she tell him the result and then he called me at work and got me. His exact words were, "YOU'RE KNOCKED UP, BABE".
Then see #3 above...

7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? My boss, my office, everyone in the parking deck at Northside Hospital who saw me crying on the way out to my car to go to the doctor. Um, well...after that craziness we told my sister and brother in law, and my inlaws next.

8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX? Absolutely. I'm way to TYPE A to not find something like that out. I fantasize about how cool it would be to find out in the moment and be suprised. But, that will never happen.
9. DUE DATE? 6/25/06

10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS? Yes, almost immediately after I found out but only through week 13. I never threw up really. It was just constant nausea. My hubby got me seabands and they did really well. He also bought me ginger gum but I was too picky/afraid to chew it. I thought it might taste bad.

11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE? From the beginning Peanut Butter! Also, ice cream and Pizza. My fave fast food was Arby's. Was in there two or three times a week. Not a normal thing for me at all.
12. WHO IRRITATED YOU THE MOST? I was pretty darn happy when I was pregnant. People at work who constantly said "see, you just had to relax to get pregnant" were close to death but I let it ride since I was so freaking THRILLED! (don't get me started...)

13. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHILD'S SEX GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

14. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING? Nope, I would have been happy either way but I can't deny that I was telling EVERYONE to THINK PINK! I had several dreams about a baby girl. Really vivid ones, even before I got pregnant. I was pretty convinced it was a girl.

15. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY? I lost weight in the beginning but gained a total of 45 by the end. (and yes I'm now officially under my pre baby weight by a pound or two even though the body is definitely not pre baby shape)

16. DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER? YES-3! A huge wonderful one with TONS of people at Copeland's Restaurant. Another one from some old pal's at an old job that was so nice and quaint. My work also threw me one on my last day before maternity leave.

17. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW? I knew but the work one was supposed to be a suprise...oops.

18. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY? Not really. I had the usual swelling ankles. I had some carpel tunnel (pregnancy related-totally weird) so my fingers and hands were numb a lot after about five months. That was annoying but no big deal. At the very end the last weekend my blood pressure went crazy and I had to stay on bed rest for two days so that we could wait for our induction day (Mon June 19).

19. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH? Northside Hospital

20. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR? About 10 hours if that was really labor? I got induced around 10pm Monday night and by noon on Tuesday I was still only 3cm and baby's heart rate was scaring everyone. We headed to the O.R. around 12:30 p.m.

21. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL? My husband. With a stop to ARBY'S on the way!

22. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH? Mike, my hubby.

23. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION? C-Section. Although I didn't want that outcome in the beginning it really wasn't bad. The recovery was great!

24. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN? PAIN MEDS ALL THE WAY!

25. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH?? 7lbs 8 ounces

26. DID YOUR CHILD HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS? Not really. Her oxygen stats were low and she had to spend time in the special care nursery. I actually didn't get to hold her again til 10pm that night. I wasn't very happy about that but it all worked out for the best. Hormonaly that sucked!

27. WHAT DAY WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN ON? June 20, 2006

28. WHAT DID YOU NAME HIM/HER? Lindsay Cecile

29. HOW OLD IS YOUR FIRST BORN TODAY? Eight Months and 18 days

Ok Mommies respond to this as "MY FIRST BORN"

DATE NIGHT

WOOHOO! This warrants a post before it even happens! Mike is actually "off" tonight and we're meeting up with some family and friends to have dinner and see a band play. Actually, it's the band that played at our wedding (THEY ROCK) and it's the band that played the first time Mike and I ever had a dance together. It's been a LONG week that actually has been a long extension of a bad last week. We're definitely looking forward to some down time and a chance to visit with some people we haven't seen in a while. I'm seriously looking forward to a glass of wine too!

Thank you Aunt KK for watching Lindsay tonight. She's looking forward to coming to see you and the kitties!
We're also in the midst of planning a "just the two of us" date that is hopefully to include a movie that is on the big screen and not a Netflix. (love Netflix....don't get me wrong but we need to get out).

Ok, time to go get ready and feed Lindsay. TGIF!

It's fun for a GIRL or a BOY!

What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs and makes a slinkity sound? A spring, a spring, a marvelous thing! Everyone knows it's Slinky. It's Slinky, it's Slinky, it's fun, it's a wonderful toy. It's Slinky, it's Slinky, it's fun, It's a wonderful toy. It's fun for a girl or a boy!
Mike found this slinky in the back of one of the limo's. Funny, we have no idea where it came from. I didn't even think they made the metal slinky's anymore (or is it slinkies)? Come on, ya'll KNOW you had slinks back in the day! Lindsay is VERY tired in these photos. She was really ready for bed but I was trying to stretch her just a little bit longer before her bed time bottle. She really liked the slinky though. Keeping paci in her mouth kept her from tasting the metal slinky. You know as soon as she went to bed I tested it out on the stairs. I didn't have stairs to play with it when I was a kid. We had to make an obstacle course out of books etc for the slinky. Of course that was after we walked to school in the snow with no shoes....ha!ha!
Anyway, I think she looks really cute in her little fire engine red flannel shorts and onsie. It's sort of a boyish outfit but cute just the same. I thought we'd try her out in this to sleep in tonight since it's warmed up so much and she's so warm blooded like her daddy.
Lindsay was a bit depressed about the outcome of American Idol tonight. On top of that Grey's Anatomy was a repeat so it's a good night to go to bed early. Mike is working this evening so it's a quiet night. Looking forward to a nice quiet weekend and hopefully some nice weather!
Stay tuned for more pics. Lindsay is preparing for St. Patrick's Week coming up. She told me to lay out all her St. Paddy's outfits and green items so she can be as festive as she was Valentine's week. Oh, it's so much fun playing dress up with you baby girl. I know soon enough we'll be fighting over what you'll wear!
