Memorial Weekend Water Games

Mike and I took the girls to Ellijay today to spend some time with Aunt Patti and Uncle Steve.
As you can see Aunt Patti found a cool water toy for the girls to play with outside

Brooke excitedly runs away from the cold water!

Lindsay has a pretty good arm. She knocked the velcro balls off several times. Maybe we should have signed her up for softball instead of swimming!

Brooke takes her turn!

They had a blast in the water today.

Check out Lindsay's power swing!

Right about here the girls decide they want to help Uncle Steve wash Aunt Patti's car.

The girls help wash the car and this side gets REALLY clean. The boys (Jeff, Mike, and Steve) took care of the other side of the car.

Brooke really concentrating on her work...

...as is Miss Little Mermaid!

Little Mermaid sings while she works.

Look at our littlest ones blue eyes!

Can you say squeegie?

Washing Uncle Steve's feet
More fun with the ball game!

I joked about the "child labor laws" with Aunt Patti, and she said there aren't any in the mountains!

I think we need a bath at this point.

Lindsay finds a new way to wash her hair.

Snack time!

miniature nutty buddy bars were a hit!

Brooke loves her chocolate flavor!

First Swim Lesson

Today was Lindsay's first official lesson at swim school.
Here she was with Miss Melody her teacher.

Lindsay really liked swim class though she thought it was too short. She wasn't really ready to get out of the pool when it was time. The lessons are 30 minutes long. Lindsay started out sort of clinging to Daddy. They let Mike go into the pool area (which most parents do not do) and that is how he got these photos.

All in all she had a successful first lesson.
She got to put her face in the water and blow bubbles, and she also learned to float on her back and get the idea of the backstroke.

Swim Lessons for Lindsay

Today we went and signed Linday up for swim lessons at Aqua-tots and her first lesson is this Saturday. So we immediately went to Wally world and got her some plastic pants (required even though she is most totally potty trained), some goggles for 3.00$ versus the 15 bucks the swim school charges; although daddy does not want Lindsay to have to use the goggles. She only wants them because she sees the other kids have them. Brooke was totally ready to swim while we were there today. She took her socks and shoes off when we weren't looking and said "Brooke swim, Brooke swim" and had a mini melt down when Dad tried to put her socks and shoes back on her. Lindsay has been wearing her goggles all over the house since we got home, as you can see from the fog! We would really like to get Brooke lessons too. But maybe next year. It is just too expensive for both right girls right now.
