New Obsessions & Chair Envy

Lindsay is enthralled with BARNEY. We know she's seen some Barney before but not much. She got two DVD's for Christmas and we watched both of them last night. She dances, claps hands, stands at the tv with her arms up for Barney to "get her". It's hysterical.
We told her to give Barney a hug and this is her hugging the tv. Guess we'll be watching a lot more Barney in the days to come.
Look who couldn't wait to try out the newest piece of furniture in the house!

Christmas Day

Daddy & Lindsay at church on Christmas morning
Grandma & Grandada or dadada as Lindsay calls him. I still had a bad cold on Christmas and could not handle the thought of the weather and sitting in church hacking and coughing so I stayed home Christmas morning. It was hard to send Mike and Lindsay off to Christmas Mass without me. I had to get the rest somewhere though. We still had a full day planned after church celebrating with Mike's side of the family.
Here is Lindsay's loot. She was napping when they got home so we didn't really do Santa time until 2pm on Christmas day. We actually didn't even finish opening everything til the next day just because we ran out of time. When you have an 18 month old you can get away with that! I imagine when they're older they can fly through the presents a bit faster as well.
"Hey, I remember you?!" We had put the Rocking Horse away after the Christmas photo shoot. She seemed happy to see him again as you can see below....

The Elmo chair is a big hit!
This steering wheel is loud as heck. It's supposed to be able to be used in the car. The legs go right over the car seat or it will fold flat to play with on the lap. It's pretty cool though. It makes a ton of sounds and Lindsay really likes it.
This Elmo book was also a hit. It has a cell phone that she can talk to Elmo with. She walks around the house with it saying "hello elmo".
The cousins on Christmas night at Grandma's house. Linds had a blow out which explains why she's sporting no shirt, no socks, no shoes....
Adam posing with his Power Ranger walkie talkies we got for him.

Derek was pretty happy with his gift from us. It was a gift he didn't think he'd get at all. We got special permission from his mom & dad. Mike was very proud to give Derek his very first pocket knife. We also gave him a big safety lecture and some instruction on how to open, close and cut with the knife. I cringed a bit over this gift but what do I know, I'm just a girl!
Linday got the Christmas version of the Cheerio book and a baggie of Cheerios from Aunt Helen & Uncle David. This pretty much ceased any other present opening for a while. She was a happy camper!
Grandada reads Frosty to his girl!
Daddy helps Lindsay open her stocking.
I just like this picture.

All in all we had a very blessed Christmas. We managed to see all of our family and I made it through with a lot of help. As I type this tonight Mike thinks he may be finally coming down with the crud. I'm praying a good night sleep will knock it out of him as he usually doesn't get sick. I'm hoping we've not been just passing it all back and forth between families. We're not making any huge plans for New Year's. I can't even think about it yet really. Mike usually has to work as it's a pretty popular limo night. Lindsay and I may visit with my other sister n law's family or we might just stay in with some Netflix & some gingerale. However we ring in the New Year I can say that we're all very excited to see 2008 round the bend!
We hope everyone has a wonderful, safe & Happy NEW YEAR!

Happy Birthday Uncle Paul

This picture is from Easter but it's one of my fave's! Today is Mike's brother Paul's birthday. Mike is 12/21, I'm 12/27 and Paul is 12/28! Wild huh? Not to mention we have several other family members and friends with December birthdays. We hope you have a great day Paul!

Here is another Shameless Plug...

Lindsay's newest obsession! It's all about the box!

Have a great Friday everyone!!!! TGIF!!!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday To ME!

I came home from work today and found THIS on my desk! It's a 19" wide screen monitor! WOOHOO! Thanks Mike! My old monitor was starting to distort and it was getting really hard to see clear pictures on everyone's blogs. Now it's nice and clear and BIG! I forgot to take the tape and the screen protector off before I took the photo....oops! Mike picked my fave pic of Lindsay from her birthday to use with his message. The bottom line says Happy Birthday Mommy!
I had a good birthday despite the fact that I awoke to M.S. from you know where and I had to work today. I normally try to take it off as I don't believe anyone should have to do anything as heinous as WORK on their special day! It was a good quiet day at work though and that was a nice gift!
Mike and I picked Lindsay up, met Aunt KK and had dinner at Mellow Mushroom. YUM. I can already tell that PIZZA is going to be a craving for this pregnancy too. I really enjoyed that because it was casual and no pressure. I haven't felt like doing anything more lately and I specifically told Mike NOT to plan any group outtings or dinner celebrations as I have not been up to feeling "social". Next year both of our bday's fall on weekends so maybe we can plan something a bit more exciting. However, this year low key was OK for me!
I have Christmas pictures to post too so stay tuned...

Breakfast with Santa (12/16/07)

Ok, so I'm finally catching up with all the pictures in my camera! Here are some pics from our morning last Sunday. Breakfast with Santa at our church. Derek, Adam & Linsday
Lindsay loves to give "five". Derek has been trying to teach her "high five" and the ever popular "up high, down low, too slow"
The boys wanted Lindsay to get her face painted. She didn't want to at first but once she got her snow flake she wanted more.
So, then we got the holly berries!
The boys and Lindsay get some grandpa time in at the train table!
Adam & Santa (isn't this the cutest photo?)
Here is our attempt at getting Lindsay and the boys with Santa. I had to get in the picture too and she still was pretty mad.

Oh well, I think that was the last Santa torture attempt this year. We went to Publix the next night to pick up a few groceries and Santa was there. Lindsay saw him a mile away and started saying "NO, NO, NO". We didn't push it. The poor girl might start having nightmares.

After the breakfast Mike's parents took Lindsay for the rest of the day. It was SO nice because we were able to go get and decorate our Christmas tree. It was such a push this year to get things ready around the house. I haven't felt well and then got really sick on top of the pregnancy stuff. Mike has been pushing through and fighting being sick himself. We're in the home stretch now! Tonight we're off to go with my family to see "A Christmas Carol". I have a little more wrapping to do and as I type Mike is making the house warm with the aroma of baking CHEX MIX! YUMMY!

We wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Our Day at the Forum

A couple of weeks ago we went to spend the day with Lindsay's cousins Derek and Adam. We went to Ippolito's for lunch, walked around The Forum, took pictures and went to visit Santa. This picture cracks me up. Adam was not so into it for a while. A little talking to from dad turned him around a bit. It just reminds me how much trouble I'm headed for when Lindsay is his age!
Sweet Brothers!
A cute family shot of Helen, David, Adam & Derek. (Although Adam is still fighting it)
This was a HARD picture to get!
Lindsay's house!
On to the next scene. We used this fireplace scene to help them get a Christmas card photo. This one we added Lindsay to the mix.
This was the best we got of us that day. I was fighting nausea and Lindsay is working her "thinker" pose.
This one is one of my favorites of my sister-n-law's family.

That same day we went to a nearby church and did their Walk thru Bethlehem. I have since heard several people talk of doing this but this was my first time. We had a great evening, however, I couldn't help thinking what a fire hazzard we were standing in with all the open flame and straw around. It was pretty crowded but the kids had a blast. Lindsay has been saying "COW" for a while now and she'll tell you what a cow says when prompted. This night she got to pet a real one and from that point on she kept pointing and saying "moo" or "mooey", as it sometimes comes out. We spent a LONG time visiting the livestock.

I don't have any pictures of our trip to Santa at the Forum. Lindsay wasn't having it. She did let me hold her as I walked up and said hello to Santa and Mrs. Claus. She thanked Santa from afar for the bubbles Mrs. Claus and he gave her. Adam went straight for Santa's lap and Derek hemmed and hawed about it for a while. Until, Mrs. Claus whispered to Derek "You know, when you stop believing you only get underwear for Christmas". Low and Behold a couple minutes later I saw Derek hopped up on Santa's lap. I'm sure he figured it wasn't worth the risk. When I teased him about it later he told me that he only saw Santa and did the "lap thing" for the sake of his brother Adam. Either way Derek should easily avoid an underwear Christmas this year!

Here is a back log of a few pics! Lindsay got new slippers a few weeks ago and she LOVES them!
See if you can detect the theme of these next few...my silly girl!

WOW 18 months old already!! Her second year is flying by faster than her first! She keeps us laughing though!
Love you Angel!
