Mike and I got to go to Murphy's in Virginia Highland's last week where we each recieved a free entree. Because I was the Queen of Murphy's for a week.

I took photos of all the kid's that dressed up, check out how they pose for me! I love the little boys spikey mohawk. Someone worked hard on his hair this morning. Lindsay didn't understand why I wanted to try to make her hair "BIG"! 80's big!

I think a majority of the school went with "rock star" instead of "celebrity". I just can't wait to see what the fundraiser is!

Mike and I have a date night tonight and we are going to Murphy's in the Virginia Highland's.

I have been looking forward to this for weeks! Mike and I are going to go shop the All For Kid's 1/2 price sale tomorrow at Mt. Paran. I have a 75.00 credit to shop for more of Lindsay's winter wardrobe!

LINDSAY LOOSES HER FIRST TOOTH!! 8/18/2011

Here is Lindsay trying on my Bon Jovi shirt the night before school's dress up day. We will have to pin up the shirt better in the morning!
Lindsay lost her tooth in "after care at Discovery Point" she actually ended up pulling it out herself. We were pretty shocked that she did that. The daycare had the tooth necklaces for her to put it on until she got picked up. Lindsay was so funny at bed time normally she keeps a hodge podge of stuff under her pillow (most likely so Brookie won't get her hands on it), so she felt the need to clean house under her pillow for the tooth fairy. Then she decided that she wanted to KEEP her first lost tooth, yet STILL get PAID! Daddy and Mommy were not going for that deal at all. We told her maybe another time she looses a tooth IF she has time to write the T.F. a letter. She wasn't all that happy with us and that answer and we promptly reminded her that she had to get up a little earlier tomorrow so Mommy can create her into a female Jon Bon Jovi, teased hair and all as tomorrow is dress up as your favorite celebrity or rock star day at school. They are having their first assembly tomorrow about their first fund raising project. Watch out everyone, we are going to be looking for interested buyers soon!!!

Lindsay Excels in School Conduct Award! Week 2!

8/12/2011: Above is the certificate that Lindsay received at school today because she had GREAT Conduct in her kindergarten class. The students all have a jar and they receive a stone in their jar if they are caught doing something good, correct, or polite to a teacher or fellow student without being prompted. Lindsay had 28 stones in her jar just for this week. She received the award and got to pick a prize (which she picked a small spiral notebook) and also got to pick from a special box of "gems" (plastic) stones, of which she picked a pink diamond. She is so happy that she got a reward this week. Mom and Dad are extremely proud of her! We think she is going to continue to be a GREAT BOSTON BEAR!! And we will be happy to continue BRAGGING on her!!! :)

8/9/2011 Unicorn

Last night we went to Kid's Night at the Chick-fil-a Dwarf house (kid's eat free!) and the activity was face painting. Lindsay decided she wanted a Unicorn. Her friend Hailey got a dragon that was awesome! Brooke didn't want her face painted so she got lady bugs painted on her arms. But here is the exciting news of the day. Lindsay woke up with a loose tooth on the bottom of her mouth! She was BEYOND excited!! She keeps having friends that lose teeth and she asks us constantly when she is going to lose one. She has seen her cousins lose teeth also and we keep telling her she will probably lose one when she is 6. She went to school this morning so excited. I emailed her teacher and let her know that if Lindsay was quiet today it's because she is messing with her tooth. Her teacher very nicely emailed me back and said that she will assure Lindsay that everything will be ok. If it does come out at school, they know it's her first tooth and that the Tooth Fairy will want to keep it in a special place forever! I can't believe the second week of school and my big girl Kindergartener daughter already has a lose tooth. I remember like it was yesterday calling everyone in our family when we finally saw one of those baby teeth pop through!! Oh such wonderful mommy memories!!

Our New Puppy! 8/7/2011

Tonight we went to the Grand Opening of a new restaurant in our area called Mama's Cafe and Bar. There was free food and drink and ice cream AND a jump house which Lindsay spent a ton of time in. We joined our neighbors Edie, John and Megan for Edie's birthday for which Lindsay made her a beautiful card. Since they were doing face painting...Lindsay decided she wanted to be made into a puppy! Ha! I bet some of you were thinking what kind of dog did they rescue now? LOL! Just our own little 5 year old kindergartener pup! We named her Lindsay Cecile Bresnan or Lindsay Lou for short. We had a great time and wore Lindsay out so well she was sound asleep by 9:15!!

8/1/2011 1st DAY OF SCHOOL (LINDSAY)

8/1/2011 First Day of School Cherokee County!
Here is Lindsay after she got off the bus from Discovery Point. She is a little Misty!


Lindsay just got her sticker that tells the teachers how she goes home. She has to ride the Discovery Point bus back to after school program (ASP). Now, she starts to have a little break down and tells me "Mommy, I can't remember where my class is!" I tell her it's ok, because I know exactly where the kindergarten hall is and I walk her right to her class. I also show her landmarks and the hall letter so she can get there tomorrow.

Here is Lindsay in her classroom ready to write her name for her teacher. Dr. Ross told Lindsay that she looked very pretty. On the first day of school they have no "SPECIALS" which is music, art, or P.E. rotation. But they will on tomorrow.

My BIG GIRL Kindergartener at her school desk! Mommy is so proud! Lindsay loves school and I can't wait to hear about her day when she gets home.

I am just wondering how long it's going to take before we have to start selling stuff? Too bad I am no longer working, I bought everyone's kid's stuff for years at NSH. I may have to go up there and get some orders for whatever she sells this year.

Welcome to Dr. Ross' classroom!

Even though Lindsay got a little weepy on me. I did very well at staying positive. I said "You're going to have a GREAT day!, and come home and tell me all about the new friends you make!"

Fortunately, I bumped into another mom Amy, who's son was in Lindsay's pre-k class. She and I decided to go have breakfast biscuits at Chic-fil-a. That was a big help to me so I didn't dwell on dropping my baby girl off at a big new school!

Thanks for going to breakfast with me Amy. It was nice to have some mom time. I hope Dominic has a great first day!
