KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 4/14/2011

Tomorrow is a big day for us, we enroll Lindsay into Kindergarten after she finishes her school day in Pre-k. Registration is from 3:30-6:00 p.m. I can't believe she is actually going to "BIG GIRL" school next year! Mike and I are wondering how well she is going to get along with the boys, she sure did not like many boys in her pre-k class this year. Last night she got hit by a boy on the playground at Chic-fil-A kid's night. It turns out is that the boy and her had previous run in earlier in the evening. He was trying to but into the line to do the activity in front of Brooke, Lindsay got very defensive and told him "NO! This is my sister and she goes NEXT"! Gotta love it when they defend each other :) I can promise you that Lindsay will defend her sister to no end, especially when a bigger kid is involved. I was in the restroom when I heard Lindsay come back to the table yelling to dad that a boy tried to cut in line during the painting activity. Fortunately, the boys mom and Mike had the two apologize to each other and agree to be friends next time. Mike told me he asked Lindsay what her favorite place was the other day, and she said school. I really hope that stays the same next year! Her pre-k teacher tells us Lindsay has a great memory and remembers things that she says almost verbatum! We have to bring her with us tomorrow because they test the kids as they enroll, for ABC's, numbers, colors, shapes etc. I am sure she is going to do excellant. We can't wait to see her classroom and meet her teacher! We have her packet all ready to go for tomorrow, since I have been volunteering there a few times already I have had a few ladies give me the "In" on the Kindergarten scene. I know many of you have already "been there, done that" with all of this. But, Mike and I are on our first go-around with school. Not to mention we'll be doing all of this again in two more years for Brookie!

Our precious eldest daughter turns FOUR today. We can't believe how fast she has grown she actually starts PRE-K on August 2 this year!!

Lindsay had her 5th swim lesson today and she went under water TWICE and came up smiling both times! We are so proudof her! After her swim lesson Uncle Steve and Aunt Claire met us for lunch so they could say goodbye to the girls before they go off to the beach with Aunt Agatha and Uncle Paul. It's going to be SO hard to know it is Lindsay's birthday and not have her here!
But, I did not want to be selfish and make her stay home just for me.
Thank you Uncle Steve for lunch today and don't forget to check your mailbox for your card from the girls'

Swim Lesson # 4 6/14/10

Swim Lesson #3

HOORAY for Lindsay she swam underwater for the first time this past Thursday! She actually has 3 more swim lessons this week before she goes on her beach trip with the Roesel/Quigg family. One is a make up for the week she'll be gone and one is a freebie for her birthday month,
and the other is her regular class on Thursday! We are so proud of how well she is doing! She is much more confident in the water with a teacher especially. If she actually goes to the beach, Mike and I are planning on getting Brooke moved into Lindsay's room and turning the nursery into a playroom! Finally! There is SO much to clean up and move. We bought Brooke's bed on consignment yesterday and Mike got a mattress and box spring today off of Craig's list. Brooke is almost ready to go! I can't wait to be putting the girls' to bed every night in the same room! Although, Linds starts pre-k August 2 this Fall.

Lolly Pop Fun

Lolly pops are ALWAYS a big deal at our house! Also when ever we go to the bank or pharmacy the girls start asking!
Brooke still has to have a paper towel bib when she eats one to catch the drool. But she can eat one faster than you have ever seen!

Swim Lesson # 2

Lindsay had a great swim lesson today! She let the instructor take her out on a swim board and push her around, the first time she held onto the instructor (Miss Lindy) the whole time and the second time she put two hands on the board. That was very good for her. She went right in the pool with the new teacher and did not cling to us one bit. We did not get any photos today because I did not want to take them through the glass and Mike did not have to go out to the pool area today. She is really warming up to the whole swimming thing. I am SO proud of her!

Swim Lessons for Lindsay

Today we went and signed Linday up for swim lessons at Aqua-tots and her first lesson is this Saturday. So we immediately went to Wally world and got her some plastic pants (required even though she is most totally potty trained), some goggles for 3.00$ versus the 15 bucks the swim school charges; although daddy does not want Lindsay to have to use the goggles. She only wants them because she sees the other kids have them. Brooke was totally ready to swim while we were there today. She took her socks and shoes off when we weren't looking and said "Brooke swim, Brooke swim" and had a mini melt down when Dad tried to put her socks and shoes back on her. Lindsay has been wearing her goggles all over the house since we got home, as you can see from the fog! We would really like to get Brooke lessons too. But maybe next year. It is just too expensive for both right girls right now.

After Megan went back to work we stayed another hour practicing.

She loved it and now we are thinking about a roller-skating birthday party!
