Lindsay's Home!

We picked Lindsay up this evening and had a yummy dinner at my sister's house. Lindsay had an absolute blast there. She slept thru the night fine for them and ate them out of house and home I'd say! She was in prime form tonight playing and showing off. I swear she is talking so much it's incredible. Pretty soon she's just going to tell us like it is! LOL!

Mike and I had a nice time Saturday night. We laughed over the fact that it cost us 30 bucks for two movies tickets, ONE drink & ONE medium popcorn! I told him "see all the money you saved by getting married and having kids!"
We saw I am Legend and let me just warn you all that if you are tenderhearted about animals or don't like scary movies steer clear of this one. It was a good movie and all. Will Smith was great and looked great too! However, it was just a bit freaky for me. All I can tell you is the woman behind me and myself were bawling when we left the theater. I ran to the restroom so that Mike wouldn't know how upset I was and then when we started talking about it in the parking lot I started crying all over again. And it wasn't the happy ending, cathartic chic flic cry either. I was disturbed. I know I will have nightmares from watching that movie. I wish I had known it was going to be as disturbing as it was. I would have preferred to see that One Missed Call movie. I'm much better with freaky, this can't really happen scary. This movie made me want to go home and get my kid!
Enough said, check it out for yourselves but at least you've been warned. Oh, and I do realize that some of why I was such a baby is probably because of the hormones taking over my body right now. However, I won't be watching that again on DVD pregnant or not.

So, tomorrow is the big appointment for Lindsay with the ENT to start evaluating her for tubes. I'm curious to see how fast they jump on that or what they actually test her for before doing it. Part of me feels like we should see how she does over the Spring and part of me thinks we should just do it. I'm hoping I have a better gage on it after we meet this doctor.

Tuesday is my OB appt as well, so it's a busy doctor week. Hopefully we'll have some new pics to post soon too.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Griping my way into the new year....

Come on everyone give me a big fat collective *SIGH* for I've just discovered another way my new "better" insurance is screwing up my life!

I just got my dental cards in the mail and went to the website to see if my dentist is on my plan...well he's not listed ANYWHERE under the find a dentist info. So, I'm assuming this means he's not covered. However, I guess I have to call to verify. Of course it's the weekend so I have to stew over this now until Monday.

Let me just say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my dentist. When Mike and I were dating he didn't have dental coverage and our doc traded services with us for limo time. It wasn't long that he did this as once we were married Mike was covered on my plan. Also, in general I HATE going to the dentist. I have NEVER had a dentist before this one that I have stuck with. I freak over just going for a cleaning. I am a habitual schedule and re scheduler when it comes to the dentist and I won't go for anything else until I'm in excruciating pain. Once I found this dentist I was able to find calm in it and I am pretty good about getting myself there for my routine stuff and I don't freak out as much. I'm going to be LIVID if I have to find a new dentist, LIVID I TELL YOU!!!!!!!! I'm just so darn mad!

Ok, I promise I'm not going to "witch" my way thru 2008 but I'm really miffed about this one.
Thanks for reading and any comments would be greatly appreciated. If anyone knows a great dentist in the Towne Lake area let me know. My current (now probably non covered dentist) is in Fulton County near the hospital so I'll go out that way too should anyone know of someone REALLY great....

On a happier note, I'm feeling better today and I rocked this morning on undecorating from Christmas and getting the tree out of the house. We vaccuumed and dusted and packed up some toys too young for Lindsay. We're putting away some old stuff to make room for the Christmas stash and we can pull it all out again for baby 2 B when the time is right.

Lindsay just got picked up by her Aunt Patti & Uncle Steve for an over nighter! WOOHOO! They just called out of the blue and said "Since you're coming up tomorrow why don't we take her tonight and you can take her home tomorrow". SCORE! Mike and I are going to pretend we're single again and go see a movie. A movie in a THEATER! So, I'm off to go search movies and times now. I'm going to try to shelf this whole dentist thing and hopefully on Monday I can blog about how I got all upset for nothing. Cross your fingers but somehow I'm not feeling it.

Happy 2008 with a little Rant...

Linds was in bed this New Year's eve by 9:00. We were sickies this year so she didn't get to ring the new year in like she did last year! Since we weren't official bloggers I decided to put up some pics from last New Year's eve.
Should we be worried???

Well, I hope everyone had a Happy New Year! I was sure glad to see 2008 get here! The last two days I've stayed home sick again. Mike forced me to the doctor yesterday and the doc tells me that I must have a bacterial sinus infection because I shouldn't have had this sinus stuff for more than ten days. DUDE, that info would have been good last time you saw me WEEKS AGO! I have just been suffering assuming that there was nothing else they could do for me since I'm preggers. Ok, so now we're on a high dose amoxciclian and a 50 freakin dollar (no joke) nasal spray and some mucinex D. In 24 hours I already feel light years better. It took two days of naps and rest to get here but I'm going to lay low this weekend and hope I finally kick this bug! I literally have been sick five weeks now. I'd have a good day here and there and then flat on my back again. Here's hoping this is finally the end of it and this weekend marks the END OF THE FIRST TRIMESTER!! Woohoo! I remember feeling so good my second trimester with Lindsay. I'm really looking forward to getting back in the gym and getting the energy to start purging my house and making room for baby!
I know I told several of you we would have an ultrasound picture this week but that's not happening. Here's my second rant. We skipped week ten due to the holidays and the fact that everything has been going well with the baby. So this week was to be our final appt with the specialist and next Tuesday I go see my regular OB for the first time. Well, my health insurance changed this year and get this...my specialist is considered OUT OF NETWORK. Seriously? The main practice is a stones throw from the hospital I work at? I've NEVER in ten years at NSH had a doctor in my area be considered out of network. I would have had to pay 490$ out of pocket to have a consult, blood work & ultrasound. Obviously, we weren't going to do that. Since this was my final appt and I have another one scheduled next week with my OB we said our goodbye's to everyone and left. Total disappointment too! I was really ready for that ultrasound since it's been two weeks since we've seen the baby. I know I'm spoiled getting ultrasounds so frequently but your mind starts to play games after a while too. It's so much easier to feel better about things once you feel the baby moving everyday. I'm sure nothing is wrong it just would have been nice to see the little one again. I absolutely can't believe that my new insurance (which is supposed to be so much better than my previous) has already screwed me over on the 2nd day of the new year! Shame on me for not checking on it before last week so we could have gone to one more appt before the 31st. Live and learn I suppose. Thankfully, my OB is on my insurance and I'm not having to look for a different doctor to deliver me. That would really be upsetting. Just gotta love healthcare!
Anyway, next week we'll get an ultrasound in the OB office although her machine is no where near the picture quality of the other office. Then we get to go to Perinatal over at the hospital the week or so after that for another test. It's a test they do when you're over 35 where they do blood work and ultraound and measure the thickness of the back of the baby's neck. We had this done with Lindsay as well and it's pretty easy. As long as the numbers look good then they won't reccomend an amnio. So we'll have some new photos and updates for the blog soon.
As far as Lindsay is concerned, she is still high on her Barney fixation. I netflixed a couple of new Barney Dvd's to see which ones we might want to own. I guess we're going to be loving the purple dinosaur for a while. Although, this morning she was very happy to see ELMO again so maybe we can alternate a bit and not have Barney overload in our house.
It seems she is talking more and more every day. Her first more than two or three word sentence was "Where did Barney GO?" Mike and I both freaked when she said it because it wasn't baby talk. It was CLEAR as a bell and for a second she was 10 years old! WOW.
Ok, time to wrap it up and get the girl herself! Have a great weekend everyone!

Playdate at Graison's House 12/30/07

Graison called and invited Lindsay to come over and play in her new bounce house!
Lindsay had a blast! Check out G in the background with crazy static hair!
Graison opening her presents from Lindsay
Big Sister Caylin played too!
Lindsay had a good time and got spoiled by her Aunt Missy!
The girls' were good about sharing! Especially G who let Lindsay play with all of her Santa loot!
We got G a steering wheel like Santa brought Lindsay! She loved it too!
12/30/06 Graison 13 months, Lindsay 6 months!
Look how much they've both grown! WOW!

Thanks Missy & Anthony for having us over. Looks like we've started a Dec 30 tradition!

See you again soon!

New Obsessions & Chair Envy

Lindsay is enthralled with BARNEY. We know she's seen some Barney before but not much. She got two DVD's for Christmas and we watched both of them last night. She dances, claps hands, stands at the tv with her arms up for Barney to "get her". It's hysterical.
We told her to give Barney a hug and this is her hugging the tv. Guess we'll be watching a lot more Barney in the days to come.
Look who couldn't wait to try out the newest piece of furniture in the house!

Christmas Day

Daddy & Lindsay at church on Christmas morning
Grandma & Grandada or dadada as Lindsay calls him. I still had a bad cold on Christmas and could not handle the thought of the weather and sitting in church hacking and coughing so I stayed home Christmas morning. It was hard to send Mike and Lindsay off to Christmas Mass without me. I had to get the rest somewhere though. We still had a full day planned after church celebrating with Mike's side of the family.
Here is Lindsay's loot. She was napping when they got home so we didn't really do Santa time until 2pm on Christmas day. We actually didn't even finish opening everything til the next day just because we ran out of time. When you have an 18 month old you can get away with that! I imagine when they're older they can fly through the presents a bit faster as well.
"Hey, I remember you?!" We had put the Rocking Horse away after the Christmas photo shoot. She seemed happy to see him again as you can see below....

The Elmo chair is a big hit!
This steering wheel is loud as heck. It's supposed to be able to be used in the car. The legs go right over the car seat or it will fold flat to play with on the lap. It's pretty cool though. It makes a ton of sounds and Lindsay really likes it.
This Elmo book was also a hit. It has a cell phone that she can talk to Elmo with. She walks around the house with it saying "hello elmo".
The cousins on Christmas night at Grandma's house. Linds had a blow out which explains why she's sporting no shirt, no socks, no shoes....
Adam posing with his Power Ranger walkie talkies we got for him.

Derek was pretty happy with his gift from us. It was a gift he didn't think he'd get at all. We got special permission from his mom & dad. Mike was very proud to give Derek his very first pocket knife. We also gave him a big safety lecture and some instruction on how to open, close and cut with the knife. I cringed a bit over this gift but what do I know, I'm just a girl!
Linday got the Christmas version of the Cheerio book and a baggie of Cheerios from Aunt Helen & Uncle David. This pretty much ceased any other present opening for a while. She was a happy camper!
Grandada reads Frosty to his girl!
Daddy helps Lindsay open her stocking.
I just like this picture.

All in all we had a very blessed Christmas. We managed to see all of our family and I made it through with a lot of help. As I type this tonight Mike thinks he may be finally coming down with the crud. I'm praying a good night sleep will knock it out of him as he usually doesn't get sick. I'm hoping we've not been just passing it all back and forth between families. We're not making any huge plans for New Year's. I can't even think about it yet really. Mike usually has to work as it's a pretty popular limo night. Lindsay and I may visit with my other sister n law's family or we might just stay in with some Netflix & some gingerale. However we ring in the New Year I can say that we're all very excited to see 2008 round the bend!
We hope everyone has a wonderful, safe & Happy NEW YEAR!

Happy Birthday Uncle Paul

This picture is from Easter but it's one of my fave's! Today is Mike's brother Paul's birthday. Mike is 12/21, I'm 12/27 and Paul is 12/28! Wild huh? Not to mention we have several other family members and friends with December birthdays. We hope you have a great day Paul!

Here is another Shameless Plug...

Lindsay's newest obsession! It's all about the box!

Have a great Friday everyone!!!! TGIF!!!!!!
