We're Home!

Hi everyone! We got home early this evening and we had such a nice get away. Little "miss" is off her schedule big time and just finally went to bed. I am heading that way myself as my 5 a.m. alarm is NOT going to be kind.

Here are a few scenic pics I thought I would post til I have time to properly document our trip. These pics are from our drive up to a nearby ranch. It was beautiful up there and we fully intend to go back when there is snow!

Lindsay just arrived in Maggie Valley. She's SO happy to be out of the car!

Come on, you knew I had to put ONE picture of Lindsay here. Thank goodness for me it's a four day week. Time to get back in the swing of all things work, diet and otherwise. UGH.

We're WALKING!!!!

Lindsay took her first unassisted steps today!!! We were in Asheville at the MALL...how fitting. Her first passage into woman hood...she walked on her own carrying her own shopping bag. NO LIE. I am totally going to have to figure out how to post video now.

Tonight she walked across the room at the lodge. We were visiting in the main lodge "living room" and she made friends with a sweet five year old girl named Jenna. Lindsay walked at least 10 steps across the room from couch to couch to get to Jenna. I couldn't believe my eyes!

I have pics and video as soon as we get home. Mike and I are just so proud of her. You can tell when she does it that she's pretty proud of herself too.

Just wanted to say that this place rocks. Wireless and free use of computer too! I wanted to hop on and do a Birthday shout out to my co-worker and friend Christi...HAPPY BIG 30! Hope you're having a great day!

Lindsay is back to her old self. The ear doesn't seem to be bothering her much and she slept great last night. We're off to go sight see. The drive up here was GORGEOUS. Too soon for real fall color but we did see the beginnings of some pretty reds, yellows & browns!

Enjoying the Fruit of her Labor

I've been wanting to post these pics for a few days but I've had a hard time lately keeping up with the blog. These are from 9/26. Lindsay has never eaten a whole apple before. Usually if she gets apple at all it's SAUCE. So I handed her a small golden that she picked herself because I was just trying to keep her busy for a minute. I didn't think she'd eat it. She took it from me and said "ball". I turned my back for a minute and next thing I know she's chowing down on it. As you can see by the bottom picture she ate quite a bit of it!

Health Update: Lindsay now has an ear infection. It's a good thing we took her to the doc before we head up to the mountains. I just had a feeling...it's been a long week but I think we're finally on the good side of things. My chiropractor is a GODSEND and those of you who know me know that is saying a lot. I still don't believe an adjustjment can cure a cold but man my neck feels better. :)

Graison & Lindsay chug a lug some apple cider! Let me tell you that was a treat. Mommy doesn't usually give juice and when we do it's VERY watered down. This stuff was straight and they LOVED it.

Lindsay last left Raggedy Ann on the recliner and Midnight has now made it her "love pillow".


Here is Lindsay passed out on the couch. Poor baby stayed home with daddy AGAIN today still under the weather. Tonight we noticed a rash developing on her back and chest and since this is 24 hours after the five day fever I'm guessing we have roseola again. I'm waiting on a call back from 250-kids to even see if that's possible. Looks like she's going back to the doc again tomorrow.

We're all falling apart here this week. I've had a crick in my neck since last Monday and I finally went to a chiropractor today. I feel like he can help me but I'm more sore tonight from the adjustment on top of the pain. I'm off to bed so I can get into work early tomorrow in case I have to leave to take care of Linds.

I'm so excited it's October 1st! I love Fall and pumpkin EVERYTHING! (especially pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin butter...yeah...you get the picture)

Anyhoo, the above site is where I snagged my Conjoined Twin Pumpkins. We carve one or two up each year for our neighborhood weenie roast Halloween weekend. I'm looking for new ideas. This site has some pretty funny stuff on it but warning...it's NOT cutsie pumpkins. It's meant to be scary, weird and freaky...Like HALLOWEEN. I personally liked Puking Pumpkin and Gun Shot Pumpkin but I didn't wanted to gross anyone out too much first thing in the morning. Ha!ha!

Hope everyone has a great week...it's a short week for me. I'm off on Friday!! WOOHOO!
