Playing in the Purple Room

We've been letting Lindsay enjoy her room this weekend. We're trying to get her used to it and comfortable in there. Here she is taking her bin with all her dishes out to the living room.
Here's a pic with the bed all done up and the new dresser placed as well. We're still waiting on a book shelf to arrive so her books and lamp are just tossed up there for now. Once we get that final piece in place we'll be finished with her room for a while.
Lindsay is eating "soup" at her table. Guess where she refilled her soup?? Notice the potty chair to the left side of the picture?? Too funny...
Bringing mommy "soup"
Feeding her new piggy bank she got from Aunt Kim, Kaley & Caroline for her birthday!
Giving Piggy a Kiss!

We had success today! Lindsay took a nap in her big girl bed. She slept for THREE hours too. Her normal nap time is 1.5-2 hours max. We'll see how she does tonight. We rocked her as usual in the nursery and then put her in her bed for night, night. I'm curious to see if she wakes up in the middle of the night or not. When she did wake up from her nap today she didn't cry. She asked for her "dolly" that was sitting over on her table. She hasn't figured out that she can get out of the bed herself yet. I wonder how long that will take?

We had a nice evening tonight. Once Lindsay went down for her nap Mike and I did the same. All of us had a nice rest and then I cooked (seriously, I cooked again) a quick dinner and we took Lindsay to the park to swing. She had a blast at the park and it was nice and cool since it was after 8pm when we got there. We hit Brusters for ice cream on the way home. Mike and I shared a scoop (thank you Dr. Soufi) and Lindsay had her kiddie cone of Cotton candy explosion or as she calls it her "PINK ICE KEEM".
She went to bed late tonight but she napped til nearly 6:30 this evening so we knew there was no way she was going to bed at her usual time. At least tomorrow is Sunday!
I'm still planning on trying to work the first three days this week. I'm dreading it but considering how little I worked last week I could use the dough.

Obviously I should be in bed myself now. Seems I'm the late night blogger lately. Goodnight from big girl central...wish us luck tonight!

How cute is that room?!?! So glad Lindsay is loving it. I wish I'd done a girly nursery. I totally would have if I knew we were having two girls...but we didn't and we know #1 and #2 would have to share a room for a while. I'll do a girly "big girl room" when we move the girls into that if/when we have #3.

We had to take all the toys out of Lana's room because she would stay up playing once she moved into her "big girl bed". Just a word of caution - you might want to screw the dressers and bookcases to the wall too. (It sounds awful, I know, but they get into everything when they realize they can get up...) Hope Lindsay slept well last night in it. It's so nice to have them be able to get up and get back in bed on their own - but it's also pretty hectic at first.

What a great room! Kudos to Lindsey for napping in her big girl bed! Try to rest as much as you can. I know those last couple of days were heck on my feet. They had swollen so big that I was wearing house slippers to work! How attractive with a business suit! God bless you and your hubby with a great delivery!
